The Patriarchal Athenaeum of Saint Mark was created as a living expression of the educational mission of the Slavic Orthodox Church in America, offering theological, spiritual and missionary training to those who wish to delve deeper into the inexhaustible riches of the Apostolic Tradition.

Inspired by the luminous example of Saint Mark of Ephesus, defender of Orthodoxy and model of fidelity to the Faith of the Holy Fathers, our Athenaeum is more than an academic space: it is a school of inner vigilance, hesychast prayer and service to the Church.

In a time of spiritual confusion and loss of roots, we offer a study environment that combines theological rigor, sacramental life, and spiritual direction, in light of the patristic teachings and monastic experience of Slavic Orthodoxy.

We welcome vocations, students, clergy and lay people who wish to be formed not only in mind, but in heart, according to the Spirit of the Gospel, guided by prayer of the heart, the reading of the Philokalia and fidelity to the Scriptures and the Liturgy.
